Do you even plank, bro?
If you do, I’m about to ruin your day, because the gentleman in the image above planks far better than you and he’s 62 years old.
Former US Marine George Hood must have abs of steel because when he planks, he planks for eight hours, 15 minutes and 15 seconds, which recently earned him the new Guinness World Record for Longest Male Abdominal Plank.
According to the BBC, the former planking record was held by Mao Weidong in China in 2016, who planked for eight hours and one minute.
Hood trained with 2 100 hours of planking in preparation to snatch the title, and says he blasts rock music while he planks.
“When I was growing up, I was fascinated with rock and roll – Van Halen, Motley Crue, Deep Purple. I would watch their videos when MTV came out and it fascinated me,” he said.
“I always just wished I could be a rock star, just for 24 hours to live that dream – the limo rides, the buzz, the hype,” he added.
“I can assure you, for those eight hours, 15 minutes and 15 seconds, I was that rock star.”
Look at him go:
After Hood claimed the world record, he finished by doing 75 push-ups, and then announced his retirement from competitive planking.
He may not be a rockstar, but that’s a pretty rockstar way to go out.
