Hollywood’s biggest night has just wrapped up.
Once again, there was no host.
I still think they should give Rebel Wilson a shot. She killed it at the BAFTAs.
There weren’t many surprises this year, other than the standout success of Parasite, which became the first foreign-language film to win Best Picture.
In general, the statues went to the right people and the right films, although, as usual, the event wasn’t without its controversies.
Much like the BAFTAs and the Golden Globes, the Academy Awards has been heavily criticised for its lack of diversity and gender equality.
Then this happened:
Nobody knows why Eminem performed ‘Lose Yourself’, but they all seemed to enjoy it. Except, maybe, Idina Menzel, who looked confused.
Eminem’s performance may have happened because the song was the first rap song to ever win ‘Best Original Song’ at the Oscars in 2002, but he didn’t attend the ceremony because he didn’t think he’d win.
Right, let’s do the mandatory look at what Billy Porter was wearing:
He really knows how to turn a look.
