Awards season continued with the BAFTA Film Awards this past weekend.
Film royalty were there to accept honours in a number of categories. British royalty also turned up to support the event, and politely laugh at jokes about Meghan and Harry.
BAFTA voters came under fire this year for the overwhelmingly white set of nominees. Even Prince William had a thing or two to say about it.
Here’s Variety:
“Joker” topped the nominations with 11 nods, while “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” and “The Irishman” snagged 10 nominations apiece and Golden Globes winner “1917” landed nine.
“We just have to keep pushing forward on this,” BAFTA chief Amanda Berry said after the nominations.
