Co-founding a fitness revolution can be a lucrative business.
Just ask Greg Glassman, CrossFit’s co-founder and CEO, who is estimated to have a net worth of around $100 million.
Then again, your marketing costs can be kept to a minimum, because anybody who does CrossFit will let you know within a few minutes of meeting them, before they tell you how it’s really a lifestyle.
It’s basically the ‘I went to Bishops’ of the exercise world.
Glassman is now selling his 11-acre estate (which includes his home and the adjacent lot) on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, for $9 million, with the property tucked away in Kealia Mauka, a private enclave on the island.
More details via Forbes:
Rather than selling the two land parcels as a single property, Glassman opted to market them separately. “If an individual decided they wanted to purchase the home and not the lot, then the home would be $7 million,” said [realtor Chadd] White…
The scenic drive to the gated community likely will convince you that this is the place you will want to call home. “As you pull into the porte-cochère, you get glimpses of the deep blue Pacific Ocean,” said White.
“As you walk into the front door, you’re greeted by the ocean. That’s actually one of the first things you’ll see. You will immediately start to notice some of the natural materials used for the home — the beautiful wood floors, some of the incredible art pieces that are scattered throughout.”
The home spans 4 352 square feet, has two master suites, and a 20-by-50-foot saline pool surrounded by natural basalt. There’s also a footpath that takes you down to a private beach, naturally.
A few more snaps of the home:
At this stage, you’re wondering if there’s a gym. Let me put your mind at ease:
If health and fitness are part of your routine, the gym in the three-car detached garage is filled with everything you need to push yourself to the next level. A sports court is a perfect addition, too.
But I thought CrossFitters called it a ‘box’, and not a gym?
(Please, no hate mail – it’s all good-natured fun.)
All in all, it’s a rather impressive estate, and a stroll to your own private beach is not to be scoffed at.
You don’t have to head to Hawaii for a great sea view, though – just look at this gem in St James.
