When the full list of nominees for this year’s Golden Globes was released, people were pretty upset about the films and television shows that didn’t make the cut.
Hollywood still hasn’t managed to close the gender gap in the industry. Maybe, next year…
All that aside, there were a couple of great productions and performances up for a bit of recognition, so it’s not all doom and gloom.
Before we go into who managed to nab a statue this year, please take a moment to appreciate Billy Porter’s red carpet look.
The man was rocking it:
Now binge-watch Pose. You can thank me later.
On to the winners. Take it away, CBS:
Netflix lead the award show’s nominations with 34 across the film and TV categories. The streaming giant’s divorce drama “Marriage Story” came out on top with six nods (Laura Dern took home best supporting actress) and its mobster film “The Irishman” had five. Both were up against eventual winner “1917,” along with “Joker” and “The Two Popes” in the best drama category.
