This year saw some innovative tech spring onto the scene.
Apple released some new additions to the iPhone family, and when it comes to sound, the speakers you can get now are off the charts.
The Guardian took a deep dive into what’s currently available in the tech market, and narrowed down their favourite finds to a list of 20.
We narrowed it down even more, and chose our top five for 2019:
Bose Frames
These standard-looking sunglasses contain a small pair of hidden speakers in their arms. While wearing them you can listen to music, use them to receive calls, and interact with Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant.
Robot Unicorn
The UBTECH Jimu Robot Mythical UnicornBot Building and Coding STEM Learning Kit is a fun way to teach your kids how to code.
While the name leaves a bit to be desired, the actual UnicornBot is very cool.
The way the world is going, coding is one of the skills that every kid should master. Every adult should get on that as well. Also, it’s a robot unicorn. A ROBOT UNICORN!
Google Nest Mini
It’s an affordable smart speaker that’s incredibly powerful, comes in four different colours, and is made using recycled plastic bottles.
Winning.
Apple iPhone 11
Then he took it along to the new (super fancy) Checkers in Constantia on a nappy run and, despite being a few toots in, the iPhone 11 held its own, capturing some quality HD footage.
If that isn’t enough to convince you that this is a stellar bit of technology, perhaps the glowing reviews will.
Cordless Vacuum
Yes, yes, yes. This is what every person with a home to vacuum needs in their life. The Vax Blade 2 Max frees you from the tangle and mess that comes with having to switch wall plugs as you move from room to room.
You know you’re an adult when a cordless vacuum cleaner gets you amped.
