Guess who’s had another terrible weekend of scandalous headlines around the world?
Yep, it’s Prince Andrew, and the hits just keep on coming.
Having been told by his own father and brother, Philip and Charles respectively, that there was “no way back for him in the near future”, the Duke of York is now being called a liar thanks to an eyewitness who says she saw him “dancing with billionaire paedophile Epstein’s sex slave Virginia Roberts Guiffre at iconic London nightclub Tramp”.
Prince Andrew has strenuously denied this, talking about how he doesn’t sweat and other oddball alibis, with more from NewsAU:
…a new witness has come forward to corroborate Ms Guiffre’s claims, saying she vividly remembered having seen Prince Andrew dancing with the teen at Tramp because “never been in a room with a royal before”.
A lawyer representing some of Epstein’s victims, Lisa Bloom, said the British woman contacted her after watching the Newsnight interview.
“The first woman, a Londoner, contacted me after she saw Prince Andrew’s interview,” Ms Bloom told The Mail on Sunday.
“She was very disappointed that he denied knowing Virginia and denied being at the (Tramp) nightclub. That’s what spurred her to come forward.
“The woman was in Tramp with a friend who said: ‘Look, there’s Prince Andrew’. She looked at him and was very struck by him because she’d never been in a room with a royal before. She stared at him.
“He was with a young woman who she now knows was Virginia Roberts.”
It sure sounds like Andrew might be caught up in a sweaty web of lies, doesn’t it?
That above is bad enough, but it has also emerged that a second alleged victim of Jeffrey Epstein has come forward to say she had sex with the Duke of York.
This would lend credence to Guiffre’s claims, and could also open up some other potentially disastrous avenues of questioning for Andrew.
IOL reports:
Lawyers in the US said a second alleged victim of the disgraced financier had come forward to say she had sex with the Duke of York.
It is understood she has not made any allegation of wrongdoing, but has said she and Andrew had consensual sex.
More than 80 women have come forward to say they were abused by billionaire Epstein.
Several want Andrew to be called as a witness in their civil cases against the estate of the billionaire, who was found dead in prison earlier this year.
Here’s where things get really bad for Andrew, though. Private detectives are said to believe the second alleged victim’s account is plausible, and those details could be made public if formal complaints are made in a civil case against Epstein.
Chances are that there will be some bizarre details about the Duke of York contained in any case against Epstein.
As an example, consider what emerged from Guiffre’s 2016 deposition against Ghislaine Maxwell, often dubbed ‘Epstein’s pimp’:
The documents also contain graphic testimony describing unusual sexual behaviour allegedly displayed by Prince Andrew, including his penchant for having two women massage him at the same time and his love of feet.
The document includes a transcript of one witness, Johanna Sjoberg, describing a bizarre encounter involving a sexual act by Prince Andrew using a puppet of himself from the 80s British satirical TV show Spitting Image.
The show featured unflattering latex puppet caricatures of world leaders and the royal family and was a huge hit in the UK and around the world.
Sjoberg claims that Andrew placed the puppet of himself on then 17-year-old Giuffre’s lap, and then placed the puppet’s hands over her breasts.
He then placed his hands on Sjoberg’s breasts.
Let’s hope the details come out, Andrew is forced to testify, and there is some form of legal retribution for his actions that goes further than other royals telling him he can no longer cut ribbons and shake hands as part of his ‘royal duties’.
As for his daughters, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, they’ve also had to deal with some backlash, the latest of which involves Beatrice cancelling her engagement party:
“Bea has had to change the date of her engagement party at the Chiltern Firehouse because of fears there will be too many photographers outside — looking for him,” an unnamed friend told The Mail.
“But the venue choice caused alarm among pals concerned it was far too high-profile given the sensitive time her family is going through.”
The party to celebrate her impending wedding to fiance Edoardo Mapelli Maozzi, 36 was due to take place on December 18.
“The sensitive time her family is going through” – sure, you could call it that, or you could say that her father has been caught with his pants down after years of fraternising with a convicted paedophile.
Funny how that can eventually come back to bite you in the arse.
