Ralph Fitch and William Leedes, who set sail on the Tyger River in 1583 in search of new tastes in India and the East, were intrepid explorers.
Thanks to their efforts, and many who came after them, we can all enjoy a bespoke range of premium mixers, which take you back to an era when things were still made with the utmost care and craftsmanship.
Earlier this year, the Bokeh Fashion Film invited filmmakers to capture the spirit of Fitch & Leedes in a short film, with the winning entry shot by Adam Hansen in Cape Town.
Hansen can be doubly proud of his win, because he beat out some stiff competition.
Sit back and enjoy this recently released film made by one of the competition finalists, Durbanite Genna-Wae Webster:
We all have that one friend, like Leedes, who isn’t up for the party, but then ends up staying later than everyone else.
For the adventurous out there, a reminder that Fitch & Leedes have recently released their on-trend Grapefruit Tonic.
The Grapefruit Tonic is not only the perfect accessory for G&Ts and cocktails, but also struts its stuff as a non-alcoholic alternative for those of you teetotaling before the festive party season takes off.
You won’t even have to travel across the ocean to get it.
Find it wherever fine mixers are sold.
