We may never know the full extent of Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes, but the allegations against the convicted sex offender just keep on coming.
Last week, South African model Juliette Bryant filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Federal Court against Epstein’s estate, detailing how she met him back in 2002 as a then 20-year-old.
She says she was introduced to him through another model, American Naja Hill, who claimed that Epstein was a “well-connected billionaire” that would be able to help with her career.
We first saw the story reported today on Business Insider SA, drawing on overseas sources.
Let’s start with the Daily Mail:
She met Epstein and his entourage, which included the ‘former high US government official,’ at a restaurant [in Cape Town], according to the lawsuit…
Epstein allegedly asked Bryant to bring a modeling portfolio for casting. He also mentioned to Bryant that he was ‘good friends’ with Lex Wexner, the owner of Victoria’s Secret.
Bryant flew to New York soon afterward, according to the lawsuit. She was then flown on Epstein’s plane to the US Virgin Islands, where Epstein owned his own island.
It was there that Bryant alleges Epstein repeatedly raped her.
‘Instead of fulfilling her dreams of becoming a model in New York City, Juliette was subject to extreme and repeated sexual abuse,’ the lawsuit states.
Bryant alleges she was flown to Epstein’s various homes in Paris, New Mexico, New York City, and the Virgin Islands.
Epstein’s island in the Virgin Islands appears time and time again in allegations made against him, with the locals having nicknamed it the ‘Island of Sin’ and ‘Paedophile Island’.
Bryant also alleges that she was forced to pose for nude photos, taken by Epstein’s assistant, with thinly-veiled threats used to intimidate her:
‘For those years, Juliette felt like a prisoner and was afraid of betraying Epstein because of his money and power,’ the document reads.
‘She was afraid he would hurt her or her family. In fact, the very first time Epstein brought Juliette to the United States, in order to scare her, he told her that when another woman had accused him of rape, he planted drugs in the woman’s apartment and had her sent to prison.’
She eventually managed to escape his clutches in 2004, after a meeting at Epstein’s New Mexico ranch, and returned home to South Africa.
Whilst she didn’t see him again, the story doesn’t end there. This from the New York Post:
[Epstein] continued to contact her right up until his arrest in July 2019.
“Epstein attempted to keep in contact with Juliette through email over the years,” the suit reads. “In June 2019, only two months before his death, Epstein sent Juliette an email asking her to send him nude photographs.”
An absolute piece of human garbage, right to the end.
Given that the story involves power, royalty, sex, and an ending ripe for conspiracy theorists, expect Epstein’s name to continue to dominate headlines around the world.
