Drag has come a long way since the New York ballrooms of the 1970s.
RuPaul’s Drag Race has brought it into the mainstream. Drag is everywhere, and finally getting the respect it deserves.
A lot of famous drag queens have been very vocal about the Trump presidency.
Recently, on Drag Race UK, The Vivienne did a very unflattering impersonation of the American president in the iconic “Snatch Game” episode.

It’s not often that the words ‘love’ and ‘Trump’ appear in the same sentence, but I love The Vivienne’s Trump impression.
Taking it a step further, New York drag legend Pissi Myles decided to take an active role in politics.
Over to INSIDER:
Public impeachment hearings kicked off on Wednesday with testimony from Bill Taylor, the acting US ambassador to Ukraine, and George Kent, the deputy assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs.
The proceedings will be overseen by the House Intelligence Committee, led by Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff and Republican Rep. Devin Nunes, both of whom were overshadowed by the appearance of a seven-foot drag queen wearing a red vinyl dress.
Pissi holds the esteemed title of Miss Fish NYC 2014. For the uninitiated, to be “fishy” means to be feminine.
Behold, Miss Pissi:
10s! 10s! 10s across the board!
Pissi was at the hearings to live-stream the events of the day. Getting through security was a bit difficult, as even her wig had to scanned with a metal detector:
The New York Post caught up with Pissi following her appearance on Capitol Hill:
“I did not think I would be the most interesting thing there today!” Pissi Myles told The Post through laughter on Wednesday night after her Washington cameo went viral.
“It was a lot of fun but it was very serious,” said Myles, 31, whose character is a riff on the actress Missi Pyle.
Pissi says that she was glad to be there, representing the queer community.
“I really think it’s important for people like me to be there,” she said — but quickly ruled out a career in politics.
“I don’t think it fits my personality!” Myles quipped.
Yas, kween. WERK.
The impeachment inquiry has been going on for more than a month – but all previous hearings were private, with reports based on leaks and sources speaking to the media.
BBC covered the first day of public hearings, if you’d like to keep up to date with what’s happening.
Or, you could just follow Pissi on Instagram.
