The first Sonic The Hedgehog trailer for the live-action adaptation of the beloved video game was a disaster.
People felt personally attacked by the depiction of Sonic, who looked more like a weird cat than a hedgehog.
As one reviewer described him, “Sonic resembles a cheap knock-off Sonic toy your child might win at a fairground stand and then be terrified of”.
The terror had a lot to do with his odd-looking fur and human teeth.

Following backlash on social media, director Jeff Fowler committed to making changes to Sonic before the film was released.
According to The Huffington Post, changes have indeed been made, and you’ll be happy to know that the hedgehog is looking more like himself.

It actually looks like a lot of fun.
