Kate Uses Secret Pub Entrance Built For Harry When He Was A Bachelor

The royals - they're just like us. When they want to unwind after a long day, they just nip into the pub through a secret alleyway entrance.
The Duchess of Cambridge takes a drink of Guinness as she meets with soldiers of the 1st battalion Irish Guards in their canteen following their St Patricks day parade at Cavalry Barracks, Hounslow on Friday, 17th March 2017. 350 soldiers marched onto the Parade Square at Cavalry Barracks led by their mascot, the Irish Wolfhound Domhnall. The Duchess then presented the shamrock to Officers and Warrant Officers, who in turn issued it along the ranks. The parade concluded with a march-past where His Royal Highness will take the salute.

Before Harry met Meghan and settled down, he enjoyed a good party.

I remember seeing him on campus at the University of Cape Town when he was still dating Chelsy Davy – often looking a little worse for wear.

Now his trips to the pub involve a quiet Sunday lunch with the family.

Just because he’s calmed down, though, it doesn’t mean that we’ve forgotten that time he was naked in Vegas.

I bring that up because it accounts for why the Royal Family decided to put certain things in place to ensure a paparazzi-free evening when Harry headed out for drinks with his friends.

One of these things was a secret entrance to the Hollywood Arms in Chelsea, which has proved useful for the rest of the family as well.

Here’s Cosmopolitan:

The Duchess of Cambridge lives her life pretty much permanently in public view, but now she’s discovered a genius way to pop down to the pub for a drink without anybody noticing.

Heading to the Hollywood Arms in Chelsea, Kate enjoyed drinks with fellow parents from Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s school.

Kate used Harry’s old secret entrance to get in and out of the venue, which also meant that she could leave the majority of her royal guard at the palace.

Kate was down at the pub for an annual meet and greet drinks party held for parents of new students at Thomas’s school in Battersea, where four-year-old Princess Charlotte started in September and where Prince George is already a pupil.

The drinks were hosted in the Hollywood Arms’ Boulevard Bar, which costs £2,500 to hire for the night. Just a low-key few pints, then.

It’s a fancy bar, with fancy drinks. The prince and princess are at a very fancy school, so it all makes sense.

The only sad part is that now that everyone is writing about it, the media are probably going to set up camp in that alleyway.

Sorry, Kate. I’m sure it was fun while it lasted.
