Franschhoek is one of my favourite spots for one simple reason:
It’s where some cracking wines come from.
More specifically, it’s where they make the finest wine in the Cape, so it’s automatically my happy place.
If you have R5,5 million lying around and you’d like to use it to move to wine country (that’s the dream!), then this quaint little cottage in Franschhoek is perfect.
It’s nothing over the top, but you’ll look damn good standing in it with a glass of merlot in your hand.
(Just make sure you’re holding it properly.)
The Seeff listing says:
This lovely home sits on a large erf and benefits from flexible reception rooms to include a lounge with fireplace, dining room, large study and mezzanine area along with a country style kitchen with scullery opening onto the patio and pantry with direct access to the garage.
This gorgeous house offers 2 spacious bedrooms ensuite inside the house along with a super self contained studio apartment in the garden which is an excellent income generator.
Here’s that studio apartment they were banging on about:
Is it worth R5,5 million? I’ll leave that up to you.
You should keep in mind that thatch is very in right now.
Or so I’m told…
