I can’t say for sure why I simply MUST own a ‘Click To Pray’ eRosary from the Vatican. I guess part of it is fashion, and part of it spiritual.
Remember when those yellow Lance Armstrong bracelets hit the scene? Everybody HAD to have one. It was nice that each one resulted in a contribution going to cancer research but, here in South Africa, it was a fashion statement – fact.
Especially since you couldn’t actually get them here and, as a result, people were bringing them in and selling them at triple the price.
By the same token, the ‘Click To Pray’ eRosaries are not available in South Africa. In fact, I went to their website and you’re pretty limited when it comes to global orders. It mentions South Africa, but this links to Acer South Africa’s website.
Not a product page or anything, just the national page for Acer. I called them and obviously nobody knew what I was talking about.
In fact, the only store outside of Acer and Amazon Italy that seem to be selling the digital prayer device is Acer UK. Luckily, Postbox Courier gave me a UK address for deliveries, so I went and ordered one. I know – I’m crazy like that.
But hey, at least I know it will be delivered to my desk, once it has arrived at the UK address Postbox Courier set up for me before it gathers dust at Customs and I have to venture into that nightmare.
On the ‘spiritual’ side, I’m not a religious person, but I like to think I am in tune with energy and the universe. I’ve been getting into meditation (I use the Waking Up guided meditation app with Sam Harris) and will probably use the Click To Pray eRosary app timer for meditation sessions, rather than actual ‘prayer’.
Wearing it on my wrist will remind me to keep up with meditation and being a healthier and better person, in general. And anyway – look at this guy. Smooth…
Also, nobody else will have it, and they’ll ask me where I got it. I’ll tell them the Pope personally sent it to me, or I’ll have to explain Postbox Courier to yet another person.
That’s not really very difficult:
Who knows, maybe Digicape will start stocking them soon and other people can be as fashionable and spiritual as me.
Be present, people!
