Convicted rapist Nicholas Ninow has been sentenced to life in prison for the brutal sexual assault of a child at a Dros restaurant in Silverton, Pretoria.
The testimony that clinched his sentence came from his young victim, who was required to provide testimony on camera from outside the courtroom.
This sparked massive debate about the risk of re-traumatising young victims who are required to testify against their perpetrators.
As a result, the Teddy Bear Clinic felt inspired to come up with an innovative way to help children prepare for court, using therapy dogs.
