Subway Musicians Play Beautiful Duet Across Tracks [Videos]

There's nothing like an expertly performed string duet by two talented subway musicians to take the edge off public transport.

A musician trying to perform next to the train tracks in South Africa would probably find themselves sans instrument, wallet, and phone by the end of the day.

Metrorail is not the type of public transport that you take unless you have to. Ask President Ramaphosa – he took the train while he was on the campaign trail and will probably never do so again.

In New York, most people take the subway, and if they’re lucky their stop will play host to one of the countless musicians who often set up and perform for commuters.

Recently, a cellist and violinist joined forces from across the tracks.

Here’s Mashable:

One Twitter user captured a serendipitous moment between two incredibly talented street performers in the midst of a duet played from across opposite sides of the Metropolitan Avenue station. Like trains going in opposite directions, it appears that never the two shall meet — other than through their sweet, sweet music.

More from another Twitter user:

Brilliantly done.
