If you removed all pet-related content from social media and the internet at large, it would be a far sadder place.
We can all admit to clicking on ‘the odd’ (fine, maybe more than the ‘odd’) cat or dog video, and pet owners around the country lovingly share photos of their favourite furballs.
Because their pet is the coolest in South Africa – nay, the world – and they’re worth showing off.
We’re not saying your kitty or pooch isn’t the bee’s knees, but we are giving you the chance to prove it, with the ‘Pet Culture Pet of the Year 2019’ competition.
Pet Culture, which offers caring pet owners a range of quality, sophisticated apparel, beds, bowls and toys, wants to celebrate your four-legged friends with you, and they’ve asked us to find the coolest pets out there.
(That’s a Banana Basket Bed from Pet Culture in the photo above, in case you’re wondering)
Each week, for the next 10 weeks, we will select ONE CAT and ONE DOG as a finalist from your entries, to be announced at midday on Fridays.
(Sorry, peeps who have pets that aren’t cats or dogs – that’s rad, but this competition isn’t for you.)
Then, from those 10 finalists, we will select a winner in each category on December 13.
The winning cat and dog will each receive a R1 500 voucher to spend at Pet Culture, as well as a pet photoshoot to showcase their beauty, both inside and out.
You can’t put a price on the adulation of the 2OV readers, either.
To enter:
We will go through all of the entrants, and pick weekly winners that advance to the final. Each weekly winner will be featured on the 2oceansvibe Instagram and Facebook accounts, so follow us to keep tabs on those.
With a R1 500 voucher to spend at Pet Culture, you’re guaranteed to find something your pet will love. Based in Cape Town, their online retail store offers caring pet owners products curated with an eye to complimenting your discernible home decor and lifestyle preferences.
It’s goodbye to clutter and mess, and hello to sleek design and comfort.
Your pet will thank you, too.
Don’t be shy.
