I never understood the appeal of Justin Bieber.
When he first hit the scene at the age of 13, I had little to no interest in him or his music.
I then had high hopes that his voice would break, and that would be the end of him.
It did break, but he didn’t go anywhere. Instead, he brought out a hideous clothing line and married Hailey Baldwin.
Then he tried to pick a fight with Tom Cruise.
More recently, he was defending rapper A$AP Rocky who was in jail in Sweden on charges of assault. Rocky’s saga has come to an end now, and he won’t be serving any additional jail time.
As we well know, the Biebs got into a lot of trouble as a kid. Now, at 25, he seems to have developed a bit of perspective. In a recent post on Instagram, he wrote an emotional essay about the pitfalls of being a child star.
Here’s BBC:
Justin Bieber has written an emotional essay about how he became “the most hated person in the world” thanks to a string of “bad decisions” in his 20s.
The star, who was discovered by music manager Scooter Braun when he was 13, admitted to heavy drug use and abusing his relationships.
“I became resentful, disrespectful to women and angry,” he wrote.
“I became distant to everyone who loved me… I felt like I could never turn it around.”

Terrible spelling, but he makes some good points. You can’t help but feel for the guy.
Also, when your life is being run by a guy named “Scooter”, you know you’re in trouble.
At 18, he had “millions in the bank” and “access to whatever [I] wanted” but “no skills in the real world”. By 19, Bieber says he was doing “pretty heavy drugs” and “abused” the relationships he was in…
Bieber was arrested several times in 2014 with offences ranging from vandalism to driving under the influence, a charge which was later reduced to of driving without due care and attention.
He credits his wife Hailey with helping him to turn things around.
I guess you can’t fault him for being a stupid kid.
Still not a fan of his music, or his clothing line, but maybe everyone deserves a second chance.
