Before moving on to Boris Johnson’s latest PR stunt, let’s recap his first couple of weeks as UK’s prime minister
He started out strong with a cringeworthy victory speech that forever altered the word “dude” in popular memory, before going on to completely botch his first meeting with the Queen.
I’m going to suggest that you let John Oliver tell you about the rest of what he got up to in July. Humour goes a long way towards taking the edge off.
If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry.
In more recent news, he suspended Parliament and, in a classic Boris style, attempted to distract everyone from focusing on that by adopting a puppy with girlfriend Carrie Symonds.
Remember her? She was last in the news when the neighbours heard glasses being smashed, screaming, and arguing coming from the Johnson residence.
Sounds like a stable home.
Back to the puppy who has arrived at 10 Downing Street:

The pupper, according to The Telegraph, was abandoned by dog traders because of his wonky jaw.
The 15-week-old dog was rescued by Eileen Jones, who runs Friends of Animals Wales, after an anonymous tip off that he had an undershot jaw and was being abandoned.
Ms Jones said that after 14 years rescuing animals she often gets calls about ex-breeding dogs or puppies that are at risk and goes to meet the tipsters in lay-bys to rescue the animals.
Plans for the adoption have been in place for weeks, and the puppy has been living in a foster home with a cat so that he doesn’t freak out when he meets Larry.
Larry is the notoriously territorial Chief Mouser at 10 Downing Street.
Mr Johnson’s suggestion of getting a dog at Downing Street was said to have been welcomed enthusiastically by staff, some of whom are said to have offered to help with walks.
Unlike Larry, who is a permanent resident at Number 10, the puppy will belong to Miss Symonds and Mr Johnson.
He is a very cute puppy. It’s a pity about the owners, though.
No word yet on how Larry feels about the new arrival.
