It never hurts to have a Plan B, so to speak, although many South Africans are only rocking the Green Mamba.
That might get you visa-free entry to a number of countries around the world, but you can’t exactly set up shop overseas.
Over the past few years, interest around ‘citizenship by investment‘ programmes has risen considerably, with the Caribbean a popular option.
There are several different ‘citizenship by investment’ programmes available in the region. However, Grenada offers investors wanting to invest in a Plan B, so much more.
The most notable difference is the unique opportunity to access the USA, through the E-2 Investor Programme.
Grenada is home to one of the top US medical and veterinary schools, St Georges, which makes it a popular choice for investors with older children. There is no residency requirement, so you are free to decide how much time, if any, you would like to spend on the island.
Investors, their spouses, children, parents and unmarried siblings can now secure citizenship, through investing as little as US$220 000 in the gorgeous new Six Senses La Sagesse resort.
Six Senses’ list of accolades includes being voted the world’s best hotel brand by Travel + Leisure for two consecutive years, and this new five-star resort will certainly offer the same level of understated luxury.
Construction on Six Senses La Sagesse, will begin on August 23, 2019. The developer, Range Development, has a proven track record of developing luxury resorts in the Caribbean, having already completed the Park Hyatt St Kitts and Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski in Dominica.
Investors and their families will receive their Grenadian passports within three to four months of applying, and will enjoy the benefit of visa-free travel to more than 130 countries, including the UK, the US, the EU and China.
If you are looking to invest in alternative citizenship, this is a fantastic option.
Immigration South Africa, with offices based in Cape Town, will be able to answer any further questions you have. You can speak to one of their immigration professionals on 021 001 2109, or email them at info@immigrationsouthafrica.com.
Also, a reminder that there’s a steep increase coming in November for investors wishing to emigrate to the United States, so those interested should apply ASAP before the costs increase.
