The irony of Trump’s appalling attitude towards immigrants isn’t lost on anyone.
More than one of his wives wasn’t born in America.
Melania’s history is especially sketchy, and I don’t think I’m the only one who struggles to believe that she married Donald for his good looks and intelligence.
Melania has used the American system to do a number of the things that Trump is currently listing as immigration no-nos.
She worked as a model without a proper visa, and used so-called “chain migration” to get green cards for her parents.
Over to the Daily Beast for Trevor Noah’s theory about why Trump’s policies don’t align with his wife’s activities.
…Looking at Trump’s immigration policies, Noah said he started to notice a “pattern” that indicates he wants his wife to leave the country.
“As if this wasn’t enough evidence that Donald Trump is trying to deport his wife, then how do you explain the new policy his administration announced this week?” Noah asked, referring to a policy that would prevent immigrants on government assistance from staying in the country.
“Well, guess who lives in a free house provided by the United States?” he said. “Melania Motherfucking Trump!”
Watch for yourself – he might be on to something…
It’s funny, although this level of planning is way above Trump’s intellectual capacity.
He probably just didn’t make the connection.
His track record with promises also doesn’t exactly bode well when it comes to the supposed ‘sanctity of marriage’. Apart from his many divorces, let’s take a deep dive with Seth Myers into all the times Trump failed to do what he said he would:
“Tweeting and yelling at people”.
Yep, sounds about right.
