Anton Taylor – The Guy Who Put The Bishops Old Boys Story On Facebook

Last night saw the grand finale to the Bishops Old Boys saga that has played out in the news, with Anton Taylor front and centre.

Last night saw the grand finale to the Bishops old boys saga that has played out in the news.

The first time the public caught wind of the story was when Anton Taylor, an old boy and Vice-Chairman of the embattled Bishops ODU (Old Diocesan Union), published a lengthy Facebook post on July 29, which you can read here.

The story was then covered by TimesLIVE the following day  – read that here.

Ahead of yesterday’s (Thursday) special general meeting, which took place in the Mallet Centre at the school, Taylor again posted on Facebook, imploring old boys to attend.

In a follow-up article today, TimesLIVE noted that “a faction of Bishops Diocesan College old boys has withdrawn a motion of no confidence in the current Old Diocesans Union (ODU) committee after a robust discussion at the private school in Cape Town”.

During the evening’s events at Bishops, Anton Taylor made reference to videos he featured in, and he encouraged the audience to view them. We have received requests to feature the videos to which he referred.

Here’s the SuperSport video that Taylor featured in from April of this year:

Taylor’s first taste of internet infamy came after a 2010 article for UCT’s varsity paper, where he stoked the competitive fires between UCT and Stellies.

After a backlash, Taylor filmed this video:

Taylor capitalised on his notoriety to go on and claim the title the International Man of Movember in 2011:

We’re talking about a hirsute chap here – check out this picture from Slick Tiger:

Following that, he went on to film and star in Jozi Shores, Here’s the pilot from back in 2013:

More recently, Taylor has featured as a rugby commentator on SuperSport, including some schoolboy games:

He also commentated on games during the SuperSport Rugby Challenge:

In addition, he appeared in SuperSport’s pre-match advertising for the past season’s Manchester Derby in the English Premier League:

And ahead of the 2019 Champions League final:

And there you have it.

Have a lovely weekend.
