24-year-old Russian Instagram influencer, Dr Ekaterina Karaglanova, had more than 85 000 followers on Instagram.
That’s sadly not how she’ll be remembered, though.
Karaglanova recently completed medical school and was planning a trip to the Netherlands to celebrate her 25th birthday with her new boyfriend.
When her parents didn’t hear from her for a few days, they contacted her landlord, who granted them access to her apartment.
According to ABC News, they were met with a horrifying discovery.
When they were granted access to her apartment they found a suitcase containing her body in a hallway.
CCTV footage captured a former boyfriend of Dr Karaglanova visiting her property in the days around her disappearance…
The New York Post reports that she was in her underwear and had suffered stab wounds to the neck and chest.
Detectives in Moscow found no signs of a struggle inside Karaglanova’s apartment and have not located the weapon believed to have been used in the slaying.
Karaglanova’s final Instagram post on July 22 showed her in a revealing lace outfit while enjoying a glass of wine in Corfu, an island off Greece’s northwestern coast.
“Generally, to be honest, I do not like a long rest,” she wrote. “I travel often, but in each country I spend no more than 3-5 days.”
Karaglanova, who specialised in dermatology, also ran a popular travel blog that had thousands of subscribers:
Police are now looking into whether the former boyfriend, who has not been identified, flew into a jealous rage and fatally attacked the Russian stunner whose followers have compared her to Hollywood icon Audrey Hepburn…
The investigation is ongoing.
