President Donald Trump is making history on a grand scale – literally.
Earlier this month, he told us all about the airports that were captured during the American Revolutionary War.
This would have been an incredible achievement if you consider that the Revolutionary War happened between 1775 and 1783, and the first airport, Hounslow Heath Aerodrome, opened in England in 1919.
His latest foray into the history books is borderline offensive. Scratch that, it’s just offensive.
At the signing of the September 11 victims compensation fund extension, he said the following, reports The Washington Post:
“Many of those affected were firefighters, police officers and other first responders. And I was down there also, but I’m not considering myself a first responder. But I was down there. I spent a lot of time down there with you,” he said to a Rose Garden crowd that included 9/11 first responders.
Yep. Trump was there, sifting through the rubble.
There are obvious problems with this statement, summed up beautifully in this tweet:
Trump was the first man in history to be in three places at once. On 9/11, Donald was downtown being a first responder WHILE he was in NJ watching Muslims celebrate WHILE he was in Trump Tower calling TV stations to brag about his building now being the tallest! #LostTrumpHistory pic.twitter.com/G1LiN9vi4k

You can see him in action, talking about all of the above, here:
So, yeah.
This has launched a series of memes on Twitter under the hashtag #LostTrumpHistory, parodying his attempts to insert himself into events that had nothing to do with him.
Please enjoy:
I’m not saying Trump is Bigfoot but I’ve never seen Trump and Bigfoot in the same room together. #LostTrumpHistory pic.twitter.com/T7K1gZTxLU

A variation on the above:
That’s Sir Edmund Hillary FYI.
Again, a variation on the same:
The new big thing in celebrity and entertainment journalism is to bring in body language experts to analyse people, in an attempt to figure out how they’re feeling, or whether or not they’re telling the truth.
With Trump, it’s simple – if his lips are moving, he’s probably lying.
