It’s common knowledge now that people can make a living by maintaining an active presence on social media.
Celebs, famous for television, movies or music, probably don’t need the cash, but they’re getting it anyway.
The Instagram Rich List 2019 was put together by Hopper HQ, and is based on how much a user can charge for a single post on the social media site.
According to Sky News, analysts looked at data including average engagement and number of followers to reveal the most influential stars.
Here are the top seven and how much they make per post.
1. Kylie Jenner – $1,26 million
That’s right – Kylie Jenner makes up to around R17 million for a post on her Instagram account.
According to Forbes, Jenner is the youngest self-made billionaire thanks in part to her make-up line Kylie Cosmetics.
She has 141 million Instagram followers and regularly posts pictures of her latest products, as well as pictures of herself in various states of undress.
2. Ariana Grande – $996 000
Ariana Grande has 160 million followers on Instagram and posts mostly black and white images.
She famously shared the picture of her misspelt tattoo on the social media platform.
This is the first time that she’s made the ‘rich list’.
3. Cristiano Ronaldo – $975 000
Cristiano Ronaldo has held third place on the list since last year.
He has 176 million followers and mostly shares picturess of paid partnerships and his own underwear brand, CR7.
As for his private posts, one in particular, garnered a lot of negative attention earlier this year.
4. Kim Kardashian West – $910 000
Kim has 144 million followers on Instagram. Her posts are a combination of bikini pictures and pictures of her children.
If you’d like to see what Chicago’s Alice in Wonderland themed birthday was like, Kim has you covered. She posted the whole thing.
She’s also been in the news lately for urging Trump to intervene in A$AP Rocky’s imprisonment in Sweden.
5. Selena Gomez – $886 000
Selena Gomez is politically active on Instagram, sharing links to the anti-trafficking organisation A21 and nonprofit Planned Parenthood to her 153 million followers.
She also did a very stylish campaign for PUMA.
6. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson – $882 000
Yeah…I didn’t anticipate seeing this name on the list, either.
The Rock boasts 151 million followers on Instagram.
7. Beyoncé – $785 000
Beyoncé, who has 130 million followers on Instagram, regularly posts pictures of herself and her husband Jay-Z.
She has recently been accused of plagiarising a South African artist in the video for the first track off her album The Gift, which was made to complement the soundtrack for The Lion King.
Now try not to think too hard about the fact that these people get paid more for one post than most of us make in a decade.
