Jay and Silent Bob are characters that have appeared in just about everything Kevin Smith has done, including Clerks.
They also starred in their own film in 2001 with Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
In the film, they find out that Miramax is adapting a comic (Bluntman and Chronic) based on them into a film. They also find out that a lot of people have bashed the upcoming film, and insulted Jay and Silent Bob numerous times.
Jay and Silent Bob decide that they must defend their honour, and embark on a road trip to Hollywood to stop the movie from being made.
Now, over a decade later, they find out that the film is getting a reboot (just like every other movie these days), and the adventure starts all over again.
Here’s Rolling Stone:
Reboot will follow much of the same Hollywood-centric plot as Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) Strike Back, except instead of learning that a movie adaptation of their comic book counterparts Bluntman and Chronic is being made for the first time, they learn from Brodie Bruce (Jason Lee) that a reboot is in the works.
They have three days to stop it from being made, and along the way, Jay learns that he is a father from his former paramour Justice (Shannon Elizabeth). As they set out for Hollywood with Jay’s teenage daughter in tow, they reunite with familiar faces from the View Askewniverse along with new ones.
Sounds like the ultimate nostalgia-fest. Check out the trailer:
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot will be in theatres on October 15 and 17 only, and South African fans will have to catch it online.
