Wimbledon isn’t just about the tennis.
It’s also a good place to play spot-the-celebrity.
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was there to support Serena Williams and caught some bad press for how she handled the public.
More recently, the world’s richest man showed up to watch Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic compete in the men’s final clash.
Jeff Bezos, who has concluded his divorce from now ex-wife MacKenzie, wasn’t alone.
NewsAU reports that Bezos and girlfriend Lauren Sanchez were spotted in the stands at the All England Club in London.
In late June, the couple dined in Kips Bay before taking in a performance of Hadestown on Broadway.
As for the future, one insider believes Bezos and Sanchez could tie the knot. “It’s way more serious than date nights — I see them sneaking off to make things official,” a source previously told the New York Post.
You may recall that, during the whole Bezos divorce saga, Sanchez was painted as the other woman. Nice to be out and about without all that fuss, then.
They weren’t the only famous people in the stands. Here are William and Kate:
Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife Sophie Hunter were also there.
The match ended up being the longest singles final in Wimbledon’s history, with Novak Djokovic saving two championship points before going on to retain his title.
Thrilling stuff.
Less thrilling, but worth a mention, is the new Jeff Bezos action figure complete with a Boston Dynamics robot dog.
Here’s The Verge:
Last year, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos tweeted a picture of himself at his Mars 2018 conference, walking alongside one of Boston Dynamic’s Spot robots. Now, a toy company has provided a super-detailed, posable action figure of the world’s richest man, which you can conceivably find, purchase, and keep in your home for reasons we have yet to discern.
A company called Ntwrk, a “mobile-first shopping” app, apparently sent the toy to a bunch of tech journalists, although I can’t seem to find any more information on this particular toy, which is perhaps a good thing considering it is disturbingly creepy.
Did the world need a Jeff Bezos action figure? Probably not. Are we glad that it exists?
Actually, no. It really is very creepy.
Will Lauren Sanchez get an action figure if they get married?
I have so many questions.
