Elon Musk has been reasonably well behaved on Twitter recently, which means one of two things.
He either put down the Ambien, or the lawyers hired to keep a handle on him have kicked things up a notch.
Then, infamous drug lord Pablo Escobar’s brother, Roberto, accused Musk of stealing his flamethrower idea.
Aaaaaand we’re back.
Over to Business Insider:
The Tesla CEO on Thursday jumped feet-first into online drama Thursday when TMZ reported that Roberto Escobar, brother of the infamous drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, had accused Musk of stealing his flamethrower idea.
According to TMZ, “Elon’s guy” was in Colombia in 2017, when he saw a toy flamethrower owned by the Escobars. ‘
A while later, in January 2018, Musk announced that The Boring Company would sell flamethrowers to raise money for its tunneling projects.
After selling out of products, which do spew flames but don’t in any way resemble actual flamethrowers Musk changed direction. In order to sell the product legally, he changed the name to “not a flamethrower”.
Which brings us back to his Twitter account:
Ha. Clever.
Maybe not the smartest move, though.
Roberto Escobar is rumoured to still be running the cartel’s house in Medellin, so maybe it’s best not to engage with him.
