Arnold Schwarzenegger is doing what he can for the environment.
He reworked his fleet of fossil-fuel Hummers into hydrogen and bio-fuel vehicles years ago, and even electrified a Hummer.
Now he wants other people to do the same and he’s convincing them with the clever use of a fake moustache and a wig.
Introducing used car salesman Howard Kleiner – Schwarzenegger’s alter-ego.
That, or he’s trying to avoid being booted in the back again in public.
According to Mashable, Schwarzenegger is pretending to be a salesman obsessed with muscle cars that burn tons of gas, as part of a campaign to get more people informed about electric vehicles.
There’s a healthy dose of self-deprecating humor about Schwarzenegger’s predilection for big cars and roles as tough characters — he was literally The Terminator. One of his reps said in a call that a serious video “isn’t as effective as going ridiculous and putting a mustache on Arnold.”
Check it out:
When asked about his car, Schwarzenegger had the following to say:
“It’s really fun,” he said about his electric Hummer. “It’s amazing how much power you can get with electric cars.” He recently drove to Las Vegas and was reminded how quiet, fast, and powerful electric can be. His daughter drives a Tesla, he said.
So while it takes a while to get used to electric after decades of gas cars, reflecting on his weight-lifting past, he said it’s just like athletes who said they’d never train on a weight machine instead of with barbells.
Speaking of gyms, this isn’t the first time that he’s put on a fake moustache for a good cause.
Here’s a bonus video of the time Howard Kleiner wanted to get more people into the gym:
