Ivanka Trump had a busy weekend.
She was with her father at the Korean demilitarised zone where he toddled 20 steps across the border, and the Trumps also bulldozed their way into a couple of conversations with more well-versed politicians.
Donald Trump tried to awkwardly muscle in on a conversation with world leaders in Osaka. Ivanka followed his example at the G20 summit with Canada’s Justin Trudeau, France’s Emmanuel Macron, and the U.K.’s Theresa May.
It’s the reaction of the IMF’s Christine Lagarde that really makes the video, though. If you haven’t watched that, stop in here.
Ivanka’s was so out of place that the internet decided to keep it going in a series of memes under the hashtag #UnwantedIvanka.
Here’s The Guardian:
…the president’s daughter and senior White House advisor has been photoshopped into significant moments in history, ranging from the signing of the US declaration of independence to the Japanese surrender at the end of the second world war.
To kick things off, here she is at the Yalta peace conference alongside Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin.
This one is funny because it actually happened:
I’ll be checking Twitter regularly throughout the day for more of these.
On a more serious note, the memes highlight what we already knew. She has no place in politics.
Ivanka’s presence at the weekend of international set-piece events came under fire from New York Democratic congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who said it “hurts our diplomatic standing”.
The whole family hurts your diplomatic standing, America.
The nepotism runs deep in the Trump administration.
