Yes, this Sunday is Father’s Day.
Now that we’ve told you, there’s no excuse to let this one slip you by.
Some families will pop out for lunch, but I can’t be the only one who can’t stand the (usually) shoddy service that comes with dining out on one of the calendar’s landmark family occasions.
If you’ve ever seen the farce that is many kitchen teas around Cape Town on Mother’s Day, you will know what I’m talking about. For those who choose to cook at home, here’s the easiest way to ensure you hit that Sunday roast out of the park.
Enter the Cheese Club, in conjunction with Daily Dish, who have put together the Sunday Roast Box, which contains the recipe and fresh ingredients for you and your family to cook, and serves six to eight people.
If your gathering has fewer people than that, good luck with the battle for seconds and a take-home Tupperware.
Just remember to return the Tupperware, because that’s one theft that mothers / aunties / grannies don’t let you forget in a hurry.
This is important, too – you only have until the end of today (Tuesday) to place your order, so you better pull the trigger on this one quickly.
The Sunday Roast Box contains the following:
A solid two-kilogram hunk of meat and all the trimmings.
In short, everything you need to put on a feast, and you didn’t have to battle someone at the shop for the last piece of meat, or wait in the queue after shelling out for parking.
Again, this offer only stands until the end of Tuesday (June 11), so head over here and make your order ASAP.
By the way, the Cheese Club also offers boxes for year-round special occasions, using the freshest and finest ingredients from Fairview and other local farms, to take the hassle out of catering.
That Biltong Box could make your old man pretty happy on Sunday – just saying.
Hope your Sunday feast works out well, and you manage to sneak off with a leftover roast potato or two.
