Horror movies are most certainly not my jam.
I usually don’t bother to watch the trailers, because I’m always going to wimp out before watching the movie, anyway.
Well, I did this time, and straight up, there’s zero chance I will watch Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
If your idea of entertainment is being terrified for two hours, though, you’ll probably enjoy the movie produced and developed by Guillermo del Toro.
Vox believes you’re in for a frightening ride:
…Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark centers on a literal book of scary stories. After the book falls into the hands of a few adventurous teens, they quickly realize that its stories are coming to life — and coming for them.
From the looks of the trailer, each of the teens is haunted, in turn, by one of the familiar and traumatizing tales that many ’80s and ’90s kids probably remember well from their childhoods.
Among the most memorable of these is the story of Harold the murderous scarecrow…
Oh, great, a scarecrow called Harold. As if the name alone wasn’t creepy enough.
Make sure you give yourself enough time between watching this and popping off the lights before bed:
.
The movie hits the big screen on August 9.
Enjoy, if that’s your thing.
