Donald, Melania, and Donald’s children from his other marriages all touched down in the United Kingdom yesterday.
CNN summed up his first day as follows – guns, guards and insults.
They left out the bit where Harry largely avoided Donald, with the latter having called Meghan Markle “nasty”, but do touch briefly on the Trump’s swanky digs while they’re in town.
Guns and guards – well, the gun salutes that welcome dignitaries, of course, which involve guards.
Insults? Exhibit A, fired off moments before touching down in the UK:
A stroke of genius to spell Khan’s name wrong, and definitely not a sign of Trump’s diminishing mental capacities.
The tantrum really kicked into overdrive when he was forced to watch something other than Fox News:
Shame.
You probably know about the Trump blimp that’s been dusted off for the latest trip, but that’s small fry compared to a group called Led By Donkeys.
They usually take aim at politicians who support Brexit, but they made an exception for Donnie. Here are some of their finer efforts:
Hey @realDonaldTrump, you just endorsed your Brexit buddy @BorisJohnson but he said some VERY NASTY things about you and he doesn’t want you to know. So we projected his words onto Big Ben. Watch with the SOUND ON #TrumpUKVisit pic.twitter.com/etUb6tk9eX

Nice.
There were also these:
In other words, a giant ‘up yours’ from the Brits, who you really have to anger before they take to being nasty.
Donald, of course, could never admit to being hated, and he claims not to have noticed amidst “tremendous crowds of well wishers”:
Sure, but that just wasn’t the case. Organisers had to cancel the usual open carriage ride with the Queen to Buckingham Palace because they feared protesters, and social media users were quick to point out that the crowds were anything but “tremendous”.
Below from HuffPost:
There were a handful of curious onlookers outside Buckingham Palace — “tens of people,” noted a Twitter comment — and a crowd of protesters.
The president was isolated from any people on the street and was surrounded instead by members of the royal family, officials, aides and palace guards.
Look at the crowd going wild. What protesters?
I think there was more of a vibe at the truly disastrous Cricket World Cup opening ceremony, and that’s not a good sign.
We shan’t mention the cricket again – sorry.
Finally, we give you…
Sure, the Brexiteers and Nigel Farage bootlickers will love having him in town, but the sane Brits know a crook when they see one.
One day of Trump’s visit down, and so much more drama to come.
