Meghan Markle has enough to deal with, when you consider the mess within her own family, without having to deal with Donald Trump.
Sadly, she has now been dragged into another mess, thanks to Trump having called her “nasty”.
In what is another example of the alternate reality POTUS and his supporters live in, Trump has denied doing so, despite the fact that it was caught on video.
During an interview with the Sun, Trump said as follows:
The Sun: “She said she’d move to Canada if you got elected. It turned out she moved to Britain.”
Trump: “Well, that’ll be good. There are a lot of people moving here. So, what can I say? No, I didn’t know that she was nasty.”
OK, so that’s pretty clear-cut.
He did add afterwards that Meghan would make a ‘very good American Princess’, and that he hopes she will ‘succeed’, but he clearly called her “nasty”.
Except if you ask the Official Trump War Room account:
Fake News CNN is at it again, falsely claiming President Trump called Meghan Markle “nasty.” Here is what he actually said. Listen for yourself! pic.twitter.com/kLuPXBLMhf

Umm, guys, this is a screenshot from the video you posted…
Still, your man has a tweet for everything:
Yes, some will argue that he was saying her comments were “nasty”, and so on and so forth, but Donald has made a habit out of calling women “nasty”.
He did it to Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election campaign (and since), which led Markle, at the time, to label Trump “divisive” and “misogynistic”.
That’s being kind.
The most awkward bit of it all is the timing, with Trump arriving in the UK today for a formal state visit. Here’s the Daily Mail:
Charles, Camilla, William, Kate, Harry and even Prince Andrew will spend time with the US President during his three-day visit.
A private lunch on Monday will see the Queen and Prince Harry meet the president, but the Duchess of Sussex will stay at home with baby Archie.
After this, Mr and Mrs Trump, accompanied by Prince Andrew, will visit Westminster Abbey, where the President will lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.
They will then be taken on a short tour of the Abbey.
The day will continue with the President and First Lady joining The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall for tea at Clarence House.
In the evening, The Queen will host a State Banquet at Buckingham Palace and both Her Majesty and the President will make speeches.
Sounds like a busy first day. I imagine Donald will lose interest at some point and start suffering from Fox News withdrawal symptoms.
Let’s hope the American president has learnt from his last visit (pictured above), when he walked in front of the Queen and sparked outrage.
He’s bringing all of his (legitimate) children along – even Tiffany – so that should be fun.
The reality TV show rolls on.
