While watching Trump bumble around like the overgrown toddler that he is, it’s sometimes easy to forget that there are people out there who actually love him.
It gets worse – those people are busy. They create things, put things out into the world, and walk among us.
Since his inauguration, Trump has inspired a range of artists, across all mediums, to create work criticising his administration. He’s also inspired some classic memes.
Forewarning – what you are about to see is the opposite of that.
Here’s The Huffington Post:
There is […] a lesser-known group of amateur and professional artists who laud the president and depict him as a strong, sometimes superhuman leader. Largely rejected from established art venues, these pro-Trump images proliferate on social media and have staked out a place as the Trump administration’s unofficial iconography.
An example of this is the portrait of Trump playing poker with former Republican presidents, which is now hanging in the White House.
Then there’s the work of Jon McNaughton, who is responsible for this image of a sad-looking Trump in response to kneeling NFL players:
And this one of him playing football titled “All-American Trump”:
The strangest part is the caption: “Try to take him down? Think again. He’s going for the goal. Another touchdown. Score!”
I reckon this artist knows as much about the sport as Trump does about physical exercise.
Moving on to alt-right memes:
And then there’s this:
Yes. Yes, that is a bazooka.
Which brings us to Ben Garrison – a classic waste of talent:
Trump marching off into the future as Indiana Jones:
Then there’s this:
Oh, and this:
If Ben Garrison’s work wasn’t enough to make you hurl, take this in:
The common thread here is that Trump is depicted as physically ripped, athletic and heroic – not unlike totalitarian posters of fascist regimes past.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go and wash my eyes out with dish soap.
