Warning – this post contains spoilers. Proceed with caution…
This Sunday, Game of Thrones will come to an end with the series finale.
I’m sure some will rejoice, whilst others will weep into their Jon Snow mugs and watch anything and everything related to the show.
For those fans, there is some good news – it’s called The Last Watch and it’s set to air on May 26.
Mashable has this to say about the trailer:
The Last Watch is a two-hour documentary about the making of the show’s eighth and final season, and going by the trailer it looks like it will go in-depth with the show’s creators to explain how they brought Thrones to an epic conclusion, as well as what the experience has meant for those who have spent years making the biggest show on television.
Sheesh, certainly the most talked about show in recent history. Here’s that trailer:
As has become customary after each episode airs, there’s also a behind-the-scenes look at Episode Five with Game Revealed:
If you don’t have time to watch that above, here’s what HBO have called Inside the Episode:
Finally, there’s the preview for the final episode:
No matter what happens, it’s sure to be better than the mess that was The Bachelor SA.
If you’re still reading at this point, you clearly don’t mind spoilers. You may also enjoy this scathing takedown by the Telegraph’s Michael Deacon, who gave the fifth episode one star, and said the series “has been ruined beyond repair”:
So here we are, then. One more episode to go. An episode in which someone will have to take Varys’s advice, and bump off Daenerys before she can do any more damage. Will it be Arya? Tyrion? The sainted Jon Snow?
And, more importantly: will we still care?
This was my big fear, after The Long Night. Gripping though that episode was, it left the remaining three episodes in grave danger of anticlimax. To compensate, the writers needed to come up with something big. Something outrageous. Something shocking.
They did that, all right. But it hasn’t paid off.
Clearly not a fan, but you can bet he will watch the final episode anyway.
If you’re playing catch-up, you can find all of the Game of Thrones episodes on Showmax.
