Tomorrow, millions of South Africans will exercise their right to vote.
Tomorrow, millions of South Africans will also hold their noses whilst they do so, wishing that there was a party that really embodied a cohesive, progressive, and inclusive way forward.
I’ve heard many people talk about voting for the best of a bad bunch, and that’s clearly how Zapiro feels.
My guess is that he won’t be voting for the ANC (that Ramaphosa versus Magashule cartoon is case in point), but who knows which, if any, box he’ll be ticking.
His latest cartoon for the Daily Maverick, titled ‘Crappy Choice’, speaks volumes:
I’m just surprised it’s not a pit toilet. I wonder if the ANC turned up at the ribbon-cutting ceremony?
One positive – unlike some of the world’s more oppressive regimes, we actually get the opportunity to vote.
