A property called ‘The Residence’ sounds more like a cult compound than a living space.
In reality, it’s the Parrot Cay beachfront residence on the Turks and Caicos Islands that Bruce Willis is looking to offload.
Willis bought the property in 2000 with the intention of cultivating a little slice of paradise – a dream chateau and two guesthouses.
Judging by the pictures, he got it right.
Here’s The Daily Beast:
So the Fyre Festival was an unequivocal—not to mention criminal—bust, but that doesn’t mean you should write off all Caribbean gatherings. Especially not when we’ve found the perfect spot for the festival of fun you’ve been noodling. And by perfect, we mean a luxurious island in Turks and Caicos with accommodations that are gilded miles away from rain-drenched tents. For $33 million, you can purchase Bruce Willis’s Parrot Cay estate and live the life Instagram influencers have convinced us we deserve.
Bruce doesn’t own the entire island, which is split amongst a number of private owners, but I’m sure they’ll respect your personal space.
For the Willis family, it was a place where they could relax without people recognising their famous father.
“It’s always served as a safe haven for us all—a place where Bruce could be totally anonymous.” Bruce and Emma Willis said about the property where their nuptials were hosted in 2009.
“We’ve had a family of turtles, that we’ve named, living in our cove for years…From flying kites to building sand castles to swimming in the pool all day it’s just a safe, chill and happy place.”
The property has 11 bedrooms, 13 full bathrooms, one partial bathroom, and sits on 7,37 acres of privately owned island land. According to the listing:
The spectacular sunset-facing estate parcel was developed into an understatedly beautiful, multi-home beachfront estate set on a private bay, comprising roughly eight acres with over 1,100 feet of unaltered beach, complete with a peninsula providing protection on its northern point.
The Residence is composed of three exquisite hardwood clad homes boasting 11 bedrooms within 13,500 interior square-feet, 18,000 under roof, and an additional 17,000 square-feet of exterior decking with four pools, for an approximate total of 35,000 square-feet. The five-bedroom Main House and two three-bedroom Guest Villas are set discretely apart from one another.
The enormous Master Suite spans the entire second level and is a tranquil retreat, with its neutral color pallet featuring large glass sliding doors that open to a full expanse of ocean views and high vaulted ceilings with a four-poster king bed, writing desk, and sitting area.
The en suite master bathroom boasts a large rain shower, free-standing soaking tub, and double vanity. The suite also features two large walk-in his and hers closets. Vistas can also be enjoyed from the wrap-around upper level terraces that span an additional 2,100 square-feet, surrounding the master suite on all sides.
The grounds boast a sandy driveway contrasted by lush lawns, beachfront shaded yoga pavilion, children’s playground with an exquisitely crafted pirate ship, coconut, banana and papaya trees, tropical landscaping, fleet of buggies, and much more.
Let’s take in a few more pictures of the house and surrounds:
It’s also stylishly designed, which is a nice change from the over-the-top decor we’ve seen from some luxury properties.
I wouldn’t expect anything less from John McClane.
[That’s a Die Hard reference for those of you who haven’t seen the films – now go and watch the films.]
