Who’s keen for a good laugh this morning? Buckle up, friends.
Yesterday, in the wake of MultiChoice’s decision to “not carry content that includes Steve Hofmeyr on any of its platforms”, some folks lost their marbles.
The family who bonded over bashing their decoder and satellite dish with a hammer deserve special mention (“they don’t like Uncle Steve”), and now the man at the centre of the uproar has joined the fray.
Yesterday, Hofmeyr filmed himself cancelling his DStv account, and then added clips of him driving over his decoder and flinging his dish off the roof.
That’s not all – here’s Channel24:
…Steve – who is known for his race-baiting and provocative statements – posted a video on Facebook of himself cutting ties with DStv in a very dramatic fashion. He then offered a R10k reward to “one lucky winner” who did the same and posted a video on Facebook before 1 June 2019.
“Yes, you can’t boycott everything and everyone, but I’m going to try. I’m done with MultiChoice, all their channels, including kykNET and Showmax, as well as Media24 (stop trying to phone me) and a few others that I will name later,” read part of Steve’s online rant.
A R10 000 reward to “one lucky winner” – I didn’t think it was possible to have a more mindnumbing ‘contest’ than The Bachelor SA, but here we are.
Not at all desperate for attention, Steve. Not at all.
Please take a moment to appreciate the artistry and editing skills on display below:
Ha, yeah, that will show them! Go on Steve, you bloody bliksem!
Also, jirre man, are you using a DStv decoder from the pre-1994 days? Get with the times, smash a DStv Explora and a Premium subscription, and score Showmax for free as part of the package.
To enjoy regular updates on the meltdown throughout the day and the weekend, pop past Steve’s Twitter account every now and again.
