Gotta love a four-day week, right?
Just when you’ve cleared out the long weekend cobwebs, the next weekend looms large, and we have two more four-day weeks coming up to look forward to.
Today’s Throwback Thursday is a real beauty, and features perhaps the most magnificent perp march ever captured on film.
Some folks are keen to fly under the radar when being bundled into the waiting cop car, but that wasn’t the case for Paul Charles Dozsa.
Before we dive into the story behind the man, let’s watch the magnificence unfold, with this filmed back in 1988 in Sydney, Australia:
‘A succulent Chinese meal’ is my new catchphrase.
Turns out Paul has quite a story to tell, so here’s UNILAD with some of the details:
Apparently despite people presuming for years that he was an Australian, the theatrical diner was in fact Hungarian but not any old Hungarian, he was reportedly of noble birth, which may explain his slightly entitled attitude, and was called Paul Charles Dozsa.
And the reason why he was being arrested? Well it seems that Mr Dozsa was one of Sydney’s most infamous dine and dashers, reportedly eating at the finest five star restaurants and then making a quick get-away before the bill had even finished being printed.
Eventually people got wise to the ex-chef’s tricks though and the court ordered repayment demands got to the point where the police arrested him…
Dozsa, who was at one time the Australian senior chess champion and a Grand Master, died back in 2003, but the footage of his arrest will live on forever.
Roll on Friday!
