Ellen DeGeneres has made no secret of the fact that she can’t stand Donald Trump.

And who can blame her after everything that he’s done?

According to The Daily Beast, in a 2017 interview with Matt Lauer, Ellen was asked the following:

“Why wouldn’t someone like you want to sit down opposite the president of the United States?” She replied, “Because I’m not going to change his mind. He’s against everything that I stand for.”

Matt Lauer has since been ousted from NBC’s morning show following allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviour in the workplace.

So we won’t speculate too hard about what he meant by “someone like you” in his question to Ellen. It’s probably something slimy.

Anyway, at the same time that all of this was going on, Trevor Noah was describing Trump as a “dream guest.”
