Donald Trump doesn’t have a lot of skills.
Or does he have the best skills? It’s hard to keep up with the dumpster fire of lies that spew out of the Whitehouse on a weekly basis.
What he is good at is giving advice when nobody wants it.
When the Notre-Dame Cathedral caught fire, world leaders took to social media to express their sympathy for the French people at the near-loss of one of their most beloved buildings.
Theresa May said that her “thoughts are with the people of France”, Hillary Clinton sent kind words about rebuilding and strength and Angela Merkel expressed her sadness at the loss.
Trump said this:
He went on to say that the fire was “burning at a level you rarely see a fire burn”, reports France24.
That’s not how fire works.
Anyway, because he said it French authorities were forced to weigh in and explain why dumping large amounts of water on a fragile structure wouldn’t work.
Following Trump’s tweet, the French civil protection service responded that the one thing it was not contemplating was using aerial tankers, which dump enormously heavy loads of water, usually on wildfires.
“Hundreds of firemen of the Paris Fire Brigade are doing everything they can to bring the terrible #NotreDame fire under control,” the civil protection service said in a statement.
“All means are being used, except for water-bombing aircraft which, if used, could lead to the collapse of the entire structure of the cathedral.”
Stick to what you know, Trump.
The sum total of which probably wouldn’t fill a pamphlet.
