A new Madame is here and she takes the form of our favourite gap-toothed superstar, Madonna.
Yesterday she announced the name of her new album, Madame X, the title of which is also the name of her new alter ego.
Her new alter ego seems to encapsulate a lot of different characters including a housekeeper, prisoner, student, mother, child, teacher, nun, whore, sinner, saint, and a spy.
Here’s The Guardian:
Madonna is not the first to conjure the image of a mysterious women with the anonymous name. The title Madame X first gained notoriety in 1884 when John Sargent painted a portrait of Virginie Amélie Avegno Gautreau, an American socialite living in Paris. When the final painting, A Portrait of Madame X, was displayed, the low cut of Gautreau’s dress was seen as scandalous. Parisians turned their noses up at the smut, and it only became a classic after later exhibitions in New York.
Watch this video to get a better idea of who Madame X is for Madonna:
Cool.
Madonna is forever changing her looks with plastic surgery inspiration from her surroundings.
British DJ Madam X, is not impressed with Madge’s new name, describing the alter ego as “lame”.
Right in the feels, DJ, right in the feels.
Hopefully, we can expect more original work from Madonna.
Or should I say, Madame X?
