Harry and Meghan are really pushing boundaries.
First, they separated from the formal royal court to start their own. They’ve also announced that they will be keeping the birth of the new little royal private, instead of the usual public media storm.
Now Harry plans on working with Oprah.
While this might not seem like such a bad thing to everyone else, rumours are circulating that The Queen is not thrilled about the Hollywood/Royalty collaboration.
The offending partnership came about as a result of Harry’s work in the mental health sector.
Here’s CNN with the deets:
Britain’s Prince Harry is collaborating with Oprah Winfrey on a new television series tackling the issue of mental health.
The multi-part documentary series, which will air on the Apple TV platform in 2020, was co-created and produced by the Duke of Sussex and Winfrey.
The show aims to inspire a more open and honest conversation about mental health.
Here’s what Harry and Meghan had to say about it on their Insta-page:
Oprah and Harry have been setting this up for a while in private meetings in London.
Winfrey, who attended Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle — now the Duchess of Sussex — in May, told “CBS This Morning” Wednesday that the collaboration began when she was having a conversation with the prince and asked him what the most important issues facing the world were.
When he mentioned that mental health was one of the things that he was passionate about, Oprah told him about the project.
Our hope is that it will have an impact on reducing the stigma and allowing people to know that they are not alone, allowing people to speak up about it and being able to identify it for themselves and in their friends,” Winfrey said.
Sounds like an important project.
I’m sure the Queen will come around eventually…
