Yes, we all want to throw in the towel sometimes and go and live in the woods – you’re not alone, mate.
Then the realities of living off the grid kick in, and all of a sudden you’re willing to put up with co-workers who drive you up the wall.
17-year-old Maddie Roark has stuck to her guns, though, and spent her childhood learning how to camp, shoot and hunt.
VICE decided to catch up with her, and here’s the write-up:
With college on the horizon, she’s returning to the wilderness to reset; as she preps for a 6 month solo hike on the Appalachian Trail. We met up with Maddie to learn more about what it’s like to go though high school off the grid.
I get a bit of a hipster vibe from Maddie, although she could actually survive for a day or two without Wi-Fi.
More power to you, Maddie.
So, do you think your mate could cut it in the woods?
