Let’s talk about space in the drinks fridge at parties these days.
You know when you arrive at someone’s house for a braai, or a dinner, and fridge space is at a premium? Then it’s a battle to see who can get their goods in there first, because your host was too polite to ask you to bring a cooler box.
The born and bred Capetonians obviously arrive last – being tardy seems to be a part of our DNA – and all that’s left is to awkwardly place your goodies on the counter-top next to the fridge, like some kind of Luddite.
Oh, you didn’t even bring ice with you. Call this thing off.
Here’s a solution, and also a celebration of having made it a few months into 2019 without the world imploding – Fitch & Leedes has launched a new 750ml glass collection.
With the convenient 750ml bottle, bigger is most definitely better. The larger glass bottles take up less room in your fridge than the conventional cans, so there’s more quality mixer for you to get stuck into.
It also frees up some space for food more alcohol. We really can’t have you running out of the good stuff.
Usually, when I hear the word ‘bespoke’, I recoil in horror.
In the case of Fitch & Leedes, though, it’s well-earned, and Ralph Fitch and William Leedes’ sailing exploration back in 1583 yielded some impressive results.
Delicately carbonated, superbly balanced and infused with the world’s finest flavours, Fitch & Leedes takes you back to an era when things were still made with the utmost care and craftsmanship.
See, ‘bespoke’.
The 750ml collection is available in all the popular Fitch & Leedes flavours: Indian Tonic, Pink Tonic, Club Soda, Bitter Lemon, Lemonade and new Cheeky Cranberry.
The Cheeky Cranberry is a great cocktail mixer, and you can crack some serious likes on Instagram with a well-timed shot.
Sunset behind, cocktail and some garnish – you’ve done this before.
The Fitch & Leedes 750ml collection is available at all leading retailers countrywide, and is great value at around R34 to R37 per bottle – that should help you stretch your drinks budget a little further.
So like these, but bigger.
You get it.
By the way, the Bitter Lemon is a very decent hangover cure.

Enjoy your weekend, and remember to go big.
