The international break is almost over, which means we can go back to watching the Premier League in peace.
There has been no shortage of goals during the international break (special mention to Percy Tau for his Bafana Bafana double, which sees us qualify for this year’s African Cup of Nations), and English fans will be very happy with the Three Lions scoring 10 times in their two matches.
Last night saw some serious drama in the Euro 2020 qualifier between Switzerland and Denmark, with the Danes coming back from three down, in what BBC Sport calls “10 minutes of madness”.
Goals from Remo Freuler, Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka and Breel Embolo had put the Swiss in a commanding position, but a meltdown, started by Dane Mathias Jorgensen’s header at the back post, saw them squander their lead in a dramatic ending:
Henrik Dalsgaard’s last-gasp effort secured an unlikely point, and almost caused a hernia in the commentary box.
It’s no 4-0 to 4-4, with a Tiote screamer, but it’s a great comeback nonetheless.
