Let’s take a break from the crime and corruption in the news and focus on some folks who are contributing something positive to the world, shall we?
In this increasingly digital age, it’s important that everyone has the resources to harness the power of the internet, especially young people.
That’s why, back in 2015, RSAWEB started connecting schools to the internet for free.
According to their blog, they started by providing free connectivity to two disadvantaged schools – Gardens Commercial High (seen above) and De Vrije Zee Primary School – which opened up new ways of learning, accessing information, and cultivating computer literacy.
The staff also benefitted from being able to work more efficiently by implementing new online systems.
Following the success we had at these two schools we teamed up with Octotel earlier this year to pipe fibre into Rondebosch Boys and Greenfield Girls schools.
Our fibre providers such as Octotel and Vumatel share our vision of connecting our nation’s children to the rest of the world and investing in their education. By partnering with them we can turn this vision into a reality.
These kinds of partnerships allow RSAWEB to provide the free infrastructure they need to connect to the internet in a fast and reliable way.
Up next, they want to provide internet connectivity to every school in the areas where they have access to fibre cables – which is widespread. Each school receives a 100mbps line with uncapped data on a monthly basis.
You may have left your schooldays far behind you, but that doesn’t mean RSAWEB doesn’t have something tailored for your needs.
They have a range of affordable fibre packages to suit a variety of needs – whether you’re a pro gamer, a business owner, or just want to stream Showmax, there’s a deal for you.
Here’s just a taste of what’s on offer for home fibre:
Under R600 a month and you’re up and running.
If you want to see the full range of home fibre options, or check out what deals they have for business owners, head over here.
Just remember that with great internet access comes great responsibility.
