R. Kelly is falling apart, and I can’t help but enjoy the unravelling.

The disgraced paedophile/musician was involved in a complete trainwreck of an interview last week, which we covered here and here.

That second one is a real home run, featuring Stephen Colbert’s ‘Remix to Conviction’ line.

This past weekend, the team at Saturday Night Live decided to have some fun with the interview, taking the piss out of Kelly and his theatrics.

A quick once-over from Vox before we dive in:

Just like the original interview, the cold open got out of hand as [Kenan] Thompson got up and ranted as a pitch-perfect Kelly, glaring straight into the camera as a calm [Leslie ] Jones looked on, “Guys, think for a minute. Use your brains! Why would I do these things. For 30 years, I gave y’all ‘Trapped in the Closet,’ ‘Feelin on Yo Booty,’ ‘Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number,’ and so many other clues.”

By the way, there is more bad news for Kelly, with this from IOL:

One of the lawyers representing women who claim they were abused by R&B star R. Kelly said on Sunday a new videotape had emerged which showed the singer “sexually abusing children.”

…The latest discovery was announced by lawyer Gloria Allred at a press conference where she told journalists it was found by couple Gary and Sallie Dennis in a box of old VHS cassettes at their home.

…”Prior to learning that such a tape was in their possession, Sallie had viewed the Lifetime documentary called ‘Surviving R. Kelly,'” said Allred.

“She was emotionally very disturbed by what the women in the documentary alleged had happened.

“Sometime after that, Sallie and her husband discovered to their surprise that they had a VHS tape that could be helpful in learning what had happened to these young girls who had come into contact with R. Kelly.”

…She said it showed “what appeared to be R. Kelly sexually abusing children” but declined to go into further detail.

One would imagine Kelly isn’t going to be stoked with that video coming to light.

Let’s get this man locked up.
