There’s a regular mirror selfie, and then there’s what Shawn Reischauer and his brother did.
The two decided to record a mirror selfie in a shopping mall, which they then posted on Instagram, where it has been viewed over 10 000 times.
The video has since been uploaded elsewhere, with well over a million views across various social media platforms.
MSN writes that the illusion was performed using two changing room mirrors. Reischauer claims that he did not use a twin for the final reveal.
You’ll see why this is confusing in a moment:
Here’s what the brothers had to say about it:
“As silly as it may sound, boredom inspired us to make this video,” Reischauer told Metro. “We were home for the holidays and were shopping with our mom. In order to keep ourselves entertained while she was checking out, we made the video. Sometimes the best ideas come out of the most mundane or simple circumstances.”
…”From our perspective, it didn’t seem that complicated,” he told Metro, “but after viewing the video, we realized that we had pulled off something that was quite interesting.”
I guess that depends on your idea of what constitutes ‘quite interesting’. It’s been a long week, and I’m really not all that amused.
Looks like another hand-swap challenge situation.
